Seventy-two hours to abandon homes, livestock, and crops. That was the ultimatum delivered to indigenous farming families in Khwaja Bahauddin, Takhar. Under the barrels of Taliban rifles, generational Tajik, Uzbek, and Turkmen residents were evicted from their compounds as incoming settlers took possession. What Kandahar dismissed in 2022 as a local dispute has, by 2026, materialized into a comprehensive demographic engineering campaign: dispossessing northern communities to establish armed colonies for Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and southern tribal factions.

This is not an accident of governance. It is a deliberate ideological conquest. The Kandahar Shura embraces TTP combatants as blood brothers and sacred comrades of the Islamic Emirate. Rather than treating indigenous Tajiks, Uzbeks, and Turkmens as equal citizens, Kandahar treats northern Afghanistan as conquered territory. The regime has chosen to reward its militant brothers with the most fertile ancestral farmlands of the north, building an armed ethnic garrison to crush northern autonomy forever. This is the calculated Waziristan-ization of northern Afghanistan.

The On-Camera Confession

The regime attempted to veil this colonization behind Islamic slogans, yet its leadership confessed on camera. On June 12, 2023, chief spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid confirmed on television that fighters from the frontier were being relocated into the country. Mujahid stated that these populations would be moved to central, southern, and also perhaps the north as well, admitting they would be divided and dispersed under regime supervision. The confession was unmistakable: the Taliban leadership had approved opening northern provinces to outside militant settlement.

By 2026, international monitors verified the execution of this pact. United Nations Security Council investigators documented that thousands of TTP combatants and their families have been successfully transferred and integrated into Afghanistan. The decisive reality is where they were placed: directly into the fertile river basins and strategic corridors of northern Afghanistan, replacing evicted local farmers.

To execute this demographic shift under legal cover, Kandahar deployed a calculated two-step strategy. In October 2022, the regime conducted its pilot run in Takhar. The Ministry of Agriculture issued a formal directive ruling that native residents of Mohajer Qeshlaq were forced to surrender their residential houses and agricultural lands to Kochi claimants. The regime weaponized nomadic claims as a legal Trojan Horse to test northern resistance.

Having suppressed local elders, Supreme Leader Hibatullah Akhundzada codified the practice nationwide through the Law on Prevention of Land Usurpation, published in Official Gazette Issue Number 1438. The Land Restitution Commission systematically rejects customary deeds, known as Qabala-e Urfi, held by northern families for generations. Because historical registries were centralized in Kabul, native farmers cannot produce royal titles. The commission reclassifies private ancestral farms as state property, cancels titles, and transfers fertile plots to incoming militant factions as spoils of conquest.

Satellite reconnaissance exposes the tactical precision of this dispossession in Khwaja Bahauddin, just eighteen kilometers south of the Tajikistan border. High-resolution imagery reveals the systematic seizure of the canal-fed wheat belt along the Kokcha River. Across Mohajer Qeshlaq, Lala Guzar, and Shortoghi, over four hundred indigenous families were uprooted at gunpoint, clearing fertile ground for fortified settlements occupied by armed Waziristan families under Taliban military guard.

From Takhar, the colonization belt expanded across the northern river valleys. In Qala-e Zal, Kunduz, tens of thousands of jeribs of fertile riverine pastures along the Amu Darya were seized from native Turkmen and Uzbek farmers to construct an armed border buffer. In Faizabad, Jawzjan, the Land Commission reclassified over one hundred thousand jeribs of rain-fed wheat plains, transferring ancestral Uzbek lands to incoming tribal loyalists along the strategic Sheberghan to Mazar-i-Sharif transit highway.

Under authentic Islamic jurisprudence, Kandahar actions constitute an absolute crime. The Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, warned: Whoever usurps even a handbreadth of land unjustly, its weight will be placed around his neck from seven earths on the Day of Resurrection (Sahih al-Bukhari 2453). Exploiting tribal chauvinism to dispossess fellow Muslims violates the core foundation of Islamic brotherhood (Sunan Abi Dawud 5121).

The Kandahar regime uses religion as cover for colonial conquest. To every Tajik, Uzbek, Turkmen, and Hazara across northern Afghanistan: by 2026, the blueprint is undeniable. Your ancestral soil was confiscated to reward foreign militants and enforce ethnic supremacy. The admissions are recorded on camera, the decrees are signed in Kabul, and the satellite coordinates are verified. The time has come to expose these colonizers, reject their fraudulent decrees, and defend northern land.
