TTP’s False Jihad: How It Twists the Quran and Sunnah to Serve Its Own Agenda
An evidence-based rebuttal of TTP’s jihad claim, exposing how it twists the Quran, Sunnah and its own texts to justify Muslim bloodshed.
TTP kills twice. First, it kills the meaning of Allah’s words. Then it kills the Muslim standing before it. Murder is renamed “jihad.” Suicide is renamed “martyrdom.” Terror is sold as Shariah. Yet Allah’s law does not change because a militant media office changes the label.
Allah has already delivered the verdict:
THE DIVINE VERDICT ON SHEDDING BELIEVER’S BLOOD
SURAH AL-NISA (4:93)
ومن يقتل مؤمنا متعمدا فجزاؤه جهنم خالدا فيها وغضب الله عليه ولعنه وأعد له عذابا عظيما
“Whoever kills a believer intentionally, his reward is Hell, abiding therein eternally; Allah is angry with him, has cursed him, and has prepared for him a tremendous punishment.”
SCHOLARLY CONSENSUS: Fourfold eternal condemnation: Jahannam, Divine Wrath, Divine Curse, and Tremendous Torture. No political movement or military leadership possesses the authority to abrogate this divine decree.
He Is a Muslim Kill Him Anyway
TTP’s 2026 booklet Ta’aruf Tehreek Taliban Pakistan exposes the fraud in one chilling admission. It says TTP does not necessarily declare every Pakistani soldier a kafir. A soldier may remain Muslim, it concedes, yet TTP still calls him mubah al-dam: a man whose blood may be shed (p. 8).

They retain his Islam, then cancel the protection Allah gave his life. They avoid one crime, takfir, only to justify another: murder. Changing “kafir” to mubah al-dam does not wash Muslim blood from their hands.
“It is not for a believer to kill a believer except by mistake” (4:92). In battle, Muslims must investigate and must not tell one who offers peace, “You are not a believer” (4:94). Even when two Muslim groups fight, Allah still calls both “believers” (Surah al-Hujurat, 49:9). When Usamah ibn Zayd killed a man after he pronounced the shahadah, the Prophet ﷺ repeatedly demanded: “Did you kill him after he said, ‘La ilaha illa Allah’?” (Sahih al-Bukhari 4269).
TTP’s answer is effectively: He said the kalimah, but we killed him anyway.
Noor Wali Put the Confession in Print
TTP leader Noor Wali Mehsud supplied the evidence himself. In Inqilab-e-Mehsud, his own book recounts the public killing of three peace-committee members and the dumping of their bodies so others would take warning. On the next page, it describes a revenge suicide bombing at a Marwat community tournament, claims 200 people were killed, and celebrates that other tribes “learned a lesson” (pp. 179–180).

That is not a battlefield ethic. It is collective terror: punish a tribe, frighten a population, and display corpses as a message. But Allah says, “No bearer of burdens shall bear the burden of another” (Surah al-An‘am, 6:164). The Prophet ﷺ forbade killing women and children even in lawful war (Sahih al-Bukhari 3015). He disowned the man who attacks the Ummah indiscriminately, killing its righteous and wicked and sparing no believer (Sahih Muslim 1848a).
“A suicide vest does not become a pulpit. A murderer does not become a martyr because a media studio supplies an ayah and a nasheed.”
THE PROPHETIC CONDEMNATION OF THE KHAWARIJ
SUNAN IBN MAJAH • SAHIH MUSLIM
الخوارج كلاب النار — يقتلون أهل الإسلام ويدعون أهل الأوثان
“The Khawarij are the Dogs of Hellfire… They slaughter the people of Islam and spare the worshipers of idols.”
PROPHETIC CRITERIA: Young in age, foolish in intellect, quoting Quranic verses without understanding. They direct all their violence against Muslim communities while claiming to establish Shariah.
The Khawarij Method Behind the Hanafi Mask
TTP calls itself Sunni, Hanafi and largely Deobandi. Then let the Hanafi tradition judge it. Imam al-Tahawi states that the people of the Qiblah are not declared unbelievers for sins; that no Muslim may be killed except by a lawful judgment; and that Muslims do not rebel against rulers merely because they are unjust (Al-Aqidah al-Tahawiyyah, points 57, 71–72).

Foundational Hanafi Principle on Sanctity of Muslim Blood — Imam Abu Hanifa (Al-Fiqh al-Akbar)

Sunni Consensus on the Prohibition of Raising Arms Against Believers — Imam al-Tahawi (Al-Aqidah al-Tahawiyyah)
TTP selectively quotes Mufti Taqi Usmani yet buries his direct ruling: armed action against Pakistan is rebellion, is haram, and “has nothing to do with jihad.” Pakistan’s Paigham-e-Pakistan, endorsed by 1,829 scholars across the schools, likewise forbids suicide attacks and private armed struggle.
The Prophet ﷺ described the Khawarij with words that now sound like a battlefield report: “They kill the Muslims and leave the idolaters.” (Sahih al-Bukhari 3344). Ibn Umar identified their method: they took verses revealed about unbelievers and applied them to believers.
That is TTP’s method. It starts with a target, manufactures a fatwa, and drapes the corpse in religious vocabulary. Every funeral exposes the lie. Every drop of forbidden blood tears another hole in its black flag. This is not jihad. It is not martyrdom. It is a war against Islam, fought with Muslim blood and hidden behind the name of Allah.
